Perek Yomi / Jewish Bible Study
Join us on Sunday mornings as we read a chapter a day of the Hebrew Bible! Study Jewish texts with us and enrich your understanding of what it means to be People of the Book.
Perek Yomi is an interactive group of people giving opinions on biblical readings and how these interact with daily life today. While this interfaith discussion group is focused on the Hebrew Bible text, we have also included Christian and Muslim interpretations and analysis on occasion. This is truly an international group, as we have had participants come from other parts of the U.S. and guest participants from Israel and France!
This Perek Yomi group has been meeting continuously at Tifereth for more than 2 years. Our discussion has continued because the group offers a fun way for adults to enhance their Jewish education in an easy but still challenging environment. People of all backgrounds are encouraged to attend, including people who have never read the Bible as well as those having a graduate education in religious studies.
Generally we have plenty of good, strong coffee and a homemade delicacy to remind us that the study of our Torah should always be sweet!
Everyone is invited to join us Sunday mornings (except holidays) beginning at 10:00am in the Tifereth Library for a lively discussion led by Michael Kuperman. For additional information, you may contact Michael Kuperman by e-mail at mikupe@aol.com or by phone at 515.223.9229.
